The Albany Academies faculty are a distinguished group of scholars committed to providing their students with an exemplary education. Our highly credentialed teachers devote many hours to advancing their knowledge of their own disciplines as well as to pedagogy that will enhance their academic instruction in the most effective way.
We place a strong emphasis on professional development for faculty, particularly in the fast growing areas of technology and brain development. As single-sex institutions, we are especially interested in studying the research on brain development as it relates to how girls and boys each learn best.
The warm and dynamic relationship between students and teachers is a hallmark of the Academies experience. In this environment of mutual respect, teachers have a willingness to listen to students, to take them seriously and to help them perform to the best of their abilities.
